Q&A: Does this signal a changing of the guard with regards to the BCS?

A distinct possibility exists that two NON-BCS conference champions (Boise State and TCU) will have defeated two BCS conference champions (Clemson and Oregon) in the regular season this year.

For the record I realize Clemson has not locked up a birth in the ACC final yet but they have a one game lead and the last two games in conference are against the teams tied for last place in each division. Clemson also holds the tie break against Boston College so most likely the worst Clemson can do is #2 aka Championship loss. I also realize Oregon hasn't locked up the PAC 10 title yet but it is likely.

Other things of note:
The Big 12 North leader at the moment has a loss to a Sun Belt team.
The Mountain West has the same amount of ranked teams as the SEC.
Navy is the Independent with the best record.

So I ask does this signal a true changing of the guard and more parity in football or is this just a fluke couple of years?

One year is a fluke. More than three years is a trend.

Remember a few years ago when Northwestern was a top team in the Big Ten?
