Q&A: How do I take protein shakes correctly?

I want to put on muscle at a faster rate but am unsure of what protein shake to take such as brand and type of shake. How would you take the shake do you drink it all before or after, or do you just take a sip now and again while working out like you would with water. Also is there any side effects with these drinks, I was gonna put on muscle naturally with no help from drinks and bars but just not seeing any progress. thanks for your help

A good way to try is to drink some, like 10g worth, during your workout. This gives your body amino acids to use for energy instead of burning your muscle fiber. Then after your workout you want to drink like 20-30 more grams.
