Last week at an Asian market in Tucson I bought a frozen Durian. Yesterday I pulled it out of the freezer to thaw it out and this evening my roommate's friend Amy showed me how to cut it open and eat it. She lived in Thailand for five years and developed a taste for it. I can't say that it was nearly as bad as I was expecting. It actually seemed like it would be really enjoyable if you got used to it. My roommate didn't like the smell.
