Typically people who do the types of things he did are floating with political ideology. They tend to adopt the most radical of a number of different philosophies because it feeds their sense of apocalypst and infringement. So you will likely find he has extremely libertarian/anarchistic views but will also rail on against big business and hold Utopian communist views at the same time
Their political affiliation is usually in conflict with itself, which helps feed their paranoia and eventually convinces them that they just have to punish someone for the inequities in the world.
