10 Free Android Apps that actually will make you money while shopping!
Shopping is either pure bliss or torture, depending on who you ask. Regardless of which side of the spectrum you are, Android apps will help you save money and allow you a more efficient shopper (which I'm sure appeals to most of you) have become. So what does that mean? The shopper gets the better value for money, never a bad thing. Perhaps more importantly, they will offer Android apps shopaphobes what they really need-less time in stores!
The sheer power and functionality of Android apps that can really make shopping almost an entirely new experience. Whether this function as a shopping list apps, database, display, or an additional source of knowledge, they are all aimed squarely at one thing: if you use them, they will save you money!
You get a sense as Android apps shopping in general, can only help you, right? Well here are 10 Android apps that will save you money while they help you meet your shopping needs and desires. Oh and did I mention that all these ten are completely free to download?
Snap tell
Want to know more about an item you saw on the rack know? Just use snap to tell the barcode of a CD, DVD, book or game to scan and you will be able to keep all information you could possibly have given. What kind of information? Well, if you just want more superficial information, you work. Most notably, if you want to see how the price stacks up to other distributors can do that for you in seconds. This app is a big-time money-saver for you if you take the time to use it before your next media buy that!
Key Ring Reward Cards
This is a very handy app for all your clutter in your bag to consolidate / portfolio, while ensuring that you have no valuable reward / loyalty cards lose. How does it work? Everything you do is a snapshot of the barcode on your reward card (almost any decent company with a rewards program in the database more than 650 programs) and enter some basic information about the store. That's it, you're now ready to use your phone as your reward card at that store in the future by pulling information from which to pay you to shop the Android app. It is probably not for non-techies or people who crave extreme simplicity. However, it is a great idea and the technology are certainly sharper in the future.
If you do not mind rewarding for all your cards and potential loss of one or two along the way (and who suffer by waiting to replace the card), this free Android app sounds like a waste of time. However, if the extra inch of not-so-soft-plastic covering for your body (or the abuse of prima bag in the room, not to mention the potential inability to use your wallet chic little shopping) is not idyllic, this app is worth the few minutes to download and everything is configured correctly.
OurGroceries
This is the perfect app for the cheerful, busy family of Android phone users. It allows the children to endlessly add all their necessary food. Once items are purchased, they can be removed from the list (on all Android phones it is registered) and then, 4 hours later, they can easily be added back on the list! Joking aside, this is a great app for the new age hyper busy, hyper-tech families who want to become more efficient.
Hey, it costs a lot of money to keep buying that extra bread that your husband / wife (or even with that you-hmmm undecided, we have not much time even though you only bought two loaves yesterday-yes, you're not only!) just picked up and will end up turning green before anyone has a chance to make a sandwich.
OI Shopping list
For me this app, called the full OpenIntents shopping is like the OurGroceries for the single people out there. Not to say a family would not benefit from this app, it just has more features and it's not a perfect fit as the other app is a simple solution for families who need to stay in their latest shopping needs. That being said, this app is a powerful workhorse and really can ultimately save you many hours and a decent cash at the end of the year.
U.S. Yellow Pages Search
This is one of the more useful free Android apps are available and I'll be honest, it is not 100% fit with the theme of helping you save money while shopping. I could argue that he does, but for simplicity, I just use an old cliche: time is money! Saving time is only as good as saving money on this busy day out and about. Following this app on your Android phone is like super thick 300 Yellow Books from all over the U.S. crammed into your back pocket. Not bad if you have a decent amount of travel or enjoy life outside your home. It's just a great resource to have on hand for those times when you need a business number quickly.
eBay
This official eBay app takes your Android phone. It's kind of crazy, but I think I better UI than the actual website on my computer. I'm not sure that a good or bad. Nevertheless, it gives you an idea that the Android app properly developed and really hits the mark. That is, if you're an eBay fan, if you do not, sorry!
Amazon.com
Same as Android app eBay, this beauty from Amazon brings all the functionality of the full-sized website to your Android phone. It's amazing how seamless the transition appears to be this giant resellers. This is a great thing for us though!
Craigslist
The last of the GIANT resellers Android apps on this list, I promise. Well, sort of: if you do not Groupon in your list of "dealers", I have not lied to you. So, if you've ever Craig List, you know how extremely important it is to verify a potential "killer item" in 5 minutes are posted and then the first handful of people to the vendor contact for a lot of it actually ends up in your possession.
That said, if you use Craigslist and you have an Android phone, you need this application NOW! Haha, sorry to shout, but if you're going to use this portal to the goodness with the hope of eventually buying something you want / need, you have instant access to newly posted items. The only way to do that (I'm assuming that you take liberties are not a hermit and on your home computer 24 / 7) is to have access to on-the-go "to generate a report for your set of items that you interest and also a way to view them. This app does both necessary measures and inform them well.
* Please for your sake, if you want to the guy (gal) bragging about the great deal you got the "coolest thing in the world" instead of the not-so-happy version of you sorry to tell the story of his "one who has escaped" to anyone who will listen, download this app! *
Groupon
This is the official application of the hugely popular and fast growing Groupon website. This site has a "cult-like" following (not in a bad way!) Actually benefits users. Essentially, the more people who use their services, the lake provides to users, and that helps us all to save a good amount of money! This free Android app means you're never out of the "Groupon loop and you will have the opportunity to benefit from the special offer where you are with them.
The coupons App
Another money-saving coupon app? Yes! That's all I can say, the prospects of saving a buck in this economy is a powerful force it seems. I'm almost a little surprised myself that I do not inundate this "shopping" with coupon apps (patted me on the shoulder for spreading the love). If I could go back in time to 1989 and use this app instead of cutting 500-plus coupons from the Sunday paper (my mother). Well those were good times, minus the paper cuts.
What is Android app will do for you? anything and everything related coupon, it brings the coupons on your phone and you can create new, even while in the store! That's pretty awesome for those of us not order "Top CEO" salaries ...
Honorable mention:
There is only one free Android app I would consider this list. The reason is because it is probably the most important app for everyone to download today. I consider it more a "compulsory app" Android app than a shopping and that is why it is here.
The app I speak of is the barcode scanner. Among other things, allows you to browse Internet on your computer and take a picture of the QR code from an app you are interested in downloading. Once the code is processed (which takes very little time talking seconds), its Android app's download page appears in Google's Marketplace! It's that simple and works like a charm once you get past the short "operator error" phase that most of our pests.
