I am more likely to feel sorry for someone in these circumstances if they are clearly deranged and not, in fact, evil.
I don't feel sorry for Hitler.
I am horrified for the victims of Dahmer, too.
Do you ever feel empathy and compassion for someone who clearly wasn't evil but went off the rails despite himself/herself?
This is why I could never be a prosecuting attorney. I would have to defend. Always
Mabel B: I was living in Muswell Hill - fairly close to Cranwell Gardens when he was caught.
It was horrible. A couple of his victims came from my local gay bar. I agree with you. He was sadly deranged and not evil at all.
KIA: The villain in that piece was Linda Tripp.
And Clinton was a sex addict (not his fault) a weakness - a flaw.
SEXY HOMER: I am not sticking up for Dahmer because he was gay.
Feeling empathy for someone isn't the same as exonerating him.
