well i dont know if it would fall under "Animated" but the first fully computer generated movie has a sequel coming out in 3 weeks.

It took a CRAY Super computer to build it. The really neat part is that at that time no monitor could handle that much graphics so the whole thing was done in coding. While parts could be viewed, most of the movie was not seen till it was on film
